Recently, quite by accident, I happened upon an exciting new mobile game called Catch The Robbers. Developed by S Gaming, it immediately caught and held my attention with its simple yet compelling premise. As the city's best detective, it is up to me to thwart the nefarious schemes of a wily gang of thieves intent on mayhem through my city's streets.
The visual splendour of the graphics is a real treat, effortlessly pulling one into the action. With easy-to-use controls to suit all abilities, gameplay proves highly accessible. However, the intrusive adverts disrupting climactic moments of cat and mouse leave me vexed. An option to opt out or tone them down would make for a slicker experience.
Memorably, during a frantic foot chase down alleys and avenues, a stray feline darted across my path, sending me careening into nearby construction with a crash. Loss of my target was a small price to pay for the hearty guffaws the unexpected twist inspired.
Rookies would do well to beef up speed and agility before all else, allowing the swifter apprehension of lawbreakers and greater rewards. And remember - power-ups are there for the taking along the way to give you an edge.
A range of difficulties, myriad boosts, and leaderboards to pit wits against friends add admirable dimensions. Scaling the ranks to better my high score offers no shortage of motivations to keep playing.
All in all, for an enticing diversion to while away idle moments, I have no hesitation recommending Catch The Robbers. Its minor quirks notwithstanding, gameplay proves hugely entertaining and engaging throughout.
