Roulette

Roulette has given gamblers glamor, mystery and excitement since the 17th century. Because the rules are relatively simple and easy to understand, it is a hugely popular game in casinos around the world. However, roulette offers a surprising level of depth for serious bettors. For those who want to play Roulette but don't know how to play Roulette, we have prepared a small roulette guide.

Roulette is French for “little wheel”. This wheel has 36 numbers and 0; on some American tables, there is a “00”. A croupier spins a small white ball that will eventually land on one of the numbers. Bets are placed on the table in relation to the slots the ball is likely to land in. In roulette, you have to guess the pocket or number where the ivory ball will land.

There are a number of bets you can make to do this. “Inside” bets, or bets placed on specific numbers, usually have higher payout odds. Outside bets do not include specific numbers and are made outside the number map. At every roulette table (and in every game in the casino), the house always has the advantage. There are theories about how you can improve your odds, but they don't work. However, there are some variants on how you can change them in your favor.

Each will have a poster on the table explaining the minimum and maximum bets. In roulette you don't play with normal casino chips. The first six bets are placed in pockets numbered from 0 to 36 on the gaming table. If you want to bet on the column, place your bets in the empty pocket under the three columns.

For the dozen, choose P12 for the first 12 numbers, M12 for the middle 12 numbers and D12 for the last 12 numbers. Finally, when you want to bet on outside bets, use the red, black, even, odd, high or low pockets.

Roulette Playing Tips

Roulette is one of the oldest gambling games, dating back hundreds of years. While the game seems to be based entirely on luck, there are some strategies and tricks you can use to maximize profits and minimize losses. Always play at a free table before placing a bet. Observe the dealer very well. Watch him/her spin the wheel carefully and strategize accordingly. These are simple but effective tips. The American Roulette wheel has an additional 00 slots that slightly reduce the odds of winning. If given both options, choose European Roulette to increase your odds of winning.

Roulette Game Strategies

- Roulette has a high house edge, meaning you will lose your money faster than other games like Blackjack or baccarat.

- Use the average loss calculator before playing to see how much you can expect to lose.

- Make only the minimum bet. Roulette forces you to bet more to make things exciting, because its speed is very slow. The more you bet, the more you lose.

- Only make even-money bets (red/black, even/odd, 1-18/19-36. With the game rules you only lose half of the ball, if the ball lands on 0 or 00, the house edge doubles to 2.63%.

- Everywhere else, play with anything except bet number 5. The house edge on most bets is 5.26%, but the number 5 is 7.89% of the bet.

- Don't be fooled into thinking that any number or color has “expiry”. If Red appears five times at once, it doesn't mean that Black will appear more on the next spin.

- Do not play single-zero roulette unless the minimum bet is low enough for you to wager. Single-zero games have a lower house edge (2.7%), but the bet minimums are usually higher, making you lose more money even at a lower house edge.

- Don't use dangerous betting systems. If you really want to use a betting system, check out more reliable roulette gaming sites.

Roulette Types

An easy to understand and fun game, roulette was born in France in the second half of the 18th century. The name of the game comes from the French term “little wheel” and the roulette wheel was aptly chosen to reflect the main decision-making power behind the game. The game became widespread in Paris around 1765 and has undergone numerous cultural evolutions since then. There are many Types (Varieties) of Roulette played today.

Types of Roulette

In the gaming world, roulette, born in French culture in the 19th century, quickly took its place. As the game grew in popularity, new forms of the game were born in the United States and other countries. Roulette, at its core, is a game of chance. Before the roulette wheel spins and the ball is set in motion, players bet on a certain number, color, or even/odd feature. Apart from knowing the slight differences between the main variations of roulette, there are no strategies or techniques that can increase a player's chances of winning. Of course, some experts say that there are strategies. These differences in odds are due to the two physical variations of the roulette wheel: American and European versions. When you start playing roulette, it's important to understand how these cultural and physical differences will affect your chances of winning. There are a few popular roulette variations that you should understand before trying your luck today:

American Roulette

The difference between American Roulette and European Roulette lies in the design of the roulette wheel. The American roulette wheel has the numbers 0 and 00, which has the effect of increasing the house edge as the player has more places on the wheel to choose from. When playing American roulette, the probability of winning is between 1 and 38. In addition to the number 00, the American roulette wheel differs from a European wheel in that its numbers are placed logically and sequentially. While the European roulette wheel randomly assigns number placements, the American wheel lines up sequential numbers opposite each other.

European Roulette

Since roulette originated in France, the European version of the game is arguably the most playable. The numbers on the European roulette wheel range from 0 to 36 (except 00, which is found on American wheels), players have a slightly higher advantage when playing the American variants than when playing European roulette: When playing European roulette, the odds of winning are between 1 and 37. Also, while the probability of winning a winner increases when playing European roulette, the risk of losing is significantly reduced. The house edge in European roulette is as high as 2.7 percent (in the American variant, it is 5.27 percent). This results in smaller losses that you have to lose when playing European roulette. There are also cultural, non-numerical differences between American and European roulette. There are more formalities and game options in the European version of the game. In European roulette, players have the option to pay the croupier to start the ball from a certain point on the wheel.
